Traveler's Treat Nut Butters

These easy to make bars are a great on-the-go snack, and also make a fantastic breakfast granola. Vegan, gluten-free, and raw, they're low in added sugars and easily customizable to include your favorite ingredients.

Total Time: 2 hours

Ingredients (makes 16 2 x 2" bars)

  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats (we used quick oats)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 2/3 cup dried fruit (we used raisins, but you can try cranberries, dates, blueberries...anything)
  • 1/2 cup dried coconut
  • 2/3 cup Reinberger Traveler’s Treat
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey, or agave syrup, or nothing)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

The Step by Step


Line an 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper or foil.

In a mixing bowl, stir together the oats, nuts, fruits, and coconut. (We used a food processor to quickly chop up our raisins and coconut before mixing.)

In another smaller bowl, stir together the Traveler’s Treat, maple syrup, and salt until smooth and combined. 


Pour the mixture into the oats and stir, mash, and blend until the oats are completely coated.

Transfer the mixture to the baking pan. Press the granola bars down firmly into the pan, then freeze the pan for at least two hours before lifting out the bars and cutting into squares.


Cut into squares using a sharp knife; wrap individually and store in the refrigerator.
