Maybe you've noticed that Reinberger Nut Butter is different from a lot of products you might find online. Or maybe you know Joseph and Luke personally and have questions about why they're doing things the hardest way instead of the easiest way. Maybe you have a bunch of beautiful glass jars around your house and came here looking for some arts and crafts projects to use them in.

Why these glass jars?

As the professional bodybuilder, 8-time Mr. Olympia winner, and native Louisianian Ronnie Coleman famously stated, "everyone wants to a bodybuilder, but don't nobody want to lift those heavy ass weights." And that's our philosophy on these jars- if you want to encourage people to recycle, it's important to give them a product worth recycling. Our sturdy glass jars take a standard Ball canning lid, so after you're done licking all that tasty nut butter out of them, you can use them for canning your own fantastic preserves. Or for storing your spices. Or as drinking glasses, or food storage, or mixing bowls, or luminaries. Or, because every 1000 pounds of recycled glass prevents over 300 pounds of greenhouse gases from being released into the atmosphere, you can just recycle them.

What's with these off-brand boxes?

Hey, those aren't unbranded shipping boxes. Those are Pratt Industries corrugated packaging boxes, made from 100% recycled paper and packaging materials. Each day, this prevents 28,000,000 gallons of water, 68,000 trees, 16,000,000,000 watt-hours of electricity, and 4,000 TONS of greenhouse gases from being wasted in the production of new paper materials. (Yes, we could have used scientific notation, but all those zeroes look very impressive.) Although they're only the fifth largest packaging company in America, we're proud to be doing our part to support the reuse of one of the planet's most valuable resources. (Alternatively, you may receive your large orders in some of our rebranded Arkansas Glass boxes. These are the boxes we get our empty jars in, and we're recycling them with 100% efficiency by shipping them straight to you, but instead of empty jars they're now full of our mouth-watering nut butter.)

What about those "sealed for your protection" labels?

Unfortunately, those aren't recyclable because they're made of the wrong type of plastic. Luke cries a little every time he thinks about this, but he cries more thinking about poorly protected nut butter and he cries most of all thinking about poorly protected nut butter consumers.

What else are you doing differently?

Our plastic packaging tape is made with 50% recycled plastics, our packaging materials are all 100% post-consumer materials, including biodegradable cornstarch-based peanuts and post-consumer cardboard, and Luke is still riding a bicycle built back in the Soviet days.
